The challenge was proposed by the Paredes City Council and Fenabel accepted it.
After Fenabel’s participation in last year’s “Duets”- Art on Chairs, with the Oasis Chair, a tribute to Maria Betânia created by Paolo Rizzato, for the second edition, It was proposed to Fenabel the production of the Maradona Chair. As the name of the piece itself states, it is the result of an interaction between the international football player Maradona and the Portuguese designer Pedro Sottomayor.
This piece alludes to the spirit of football, presenting itself as a somehow complex organic structure, upholstered in high quality leather, with a pattern that evokes the old football balls and oak wood feet.
The Duets (2+1) bring together 11 prestigious international personalities with 11 renowned designers. The idea is simple: to create, draw and design the ideal chair for each individual, in a duet between the designer and the chosen personality.

This year, Fenabel took part, for the first time, in this international exhibition focused on Modern Office and Facility, which took place in Cologne from the 21st to the 25th of October.
Knows as one of the most innovative countries in the World, Germany is home to the most prestigious trade shows, in almost every business area, and Orgatec is a window to the contract market, and a meeting point between companies and their clients, as well as an opportunity to show the novelties to the public in general.
Fenabel took this opportunity to present the new World Catalogue, divided in 272 pages, containing hundreds of models and 90 different “families “of chairs, suitable to different market needs ,and showed that innovation goes well with the knowledge and tradition of a company with lots of history.

Hoping to impress one of the strongest economies in the world with a range of chairs which bring design and Comfort together, Fenabel was present, for the second time, in the capital city of entertainment , to participate on the HD, Hospitality design event, which took place from the 14th to the 16th of May in the Mandalay Bay resort, Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a city where hospitality is one of the primary drivers of the economy, Fenabel did not rely on luck and presented, alongside with other contract suitable models, the Craft Collection, a stunning range produced in Beech wood and natural varnish, designed by Aitor Garcia de Vicuña (AVG Studios), studied to fit in leisure and conviviality spaces, such as Pubs and smaller coffee shops, usually located in bigger cities, in order to satiate this market’s hunger for innovation and novelty.
